I have problem with customer windows the problem is every time I go to squeegee the windows I am leaving white film behind from cheap vinyl windows the builder put in. I tried to dry windows with towel but white is still there.
Sounds like oxidization of the vinyl. If you get the frame wet it will bleed down and the squeegee will pull some of the residue into a trail. I've attached a video where I give a touch up tip for water fed pole work but the technique will work for your issue as well.
I know this is an older post but when in need. I search. This acid suggestion my be the answer but not a very helpful statement. There are many kinds of dangerous acid that would do more harm than good.If oxidation is already on the glass you have to use acid to remove it. If the chalking of the window frame is bad I scrub the frame and the glass with an acid to remove the chalking then rinse. Also, Some windows still have to be done the old fashion way.
Even in the rain it worked well! LOL.At the Milwaukee event last May I cleaned up some vinyl oxidation off some windows with the wfp. We didn't need acids just a little elbow grease. Paul and Doug were there to watch they can tell you ho well it worked.
Tony, getting a little off topic here but is there a tool that you know of that will clamp onto a rag that is on the end of a threaded pole so you can wipe things, not windows but other stuff where the towel will not come off easily? I do degreasing of heavy equipment and trucks and just thought of using a rag on the end of a pole to wipe most of the grease off so when washing, the grease just does not fly off and stick to other surfaces.
I think this could also be used for other purposes also.
PM me or email me if that is easier.
Thanks.
