They are a shining example of how a good american made product can be marketed and improved by complete New jersey type corprate douchebags, ruining the line for those who acually ride.
Being about 50 miles outside of Washington DC I get to see first hand all the tools who drive up and a 30-50K truck pulling a trailer to a nice hotel where they take the bike off ( if the weather is nice) polish it gear up in several hundred dollars of HD leather products made in china and ride down to the memorial, never go to it. Hang out at a bar then drive back a few miles and put the bike back on the trailer.

I have had many Harley's and loved them all, but there is no doubt that they are way behind in technology.Just thought it was pretty funny truth, and there are many posers out there that have a 2000 HD Touring Bike with 3500 miles on the Bike and 35,000 miles on the trailer...lol

Pretty much sour grapes from Harley dropping the Buell production. I've owned virtually every major brand of motorcycle over many years. Including a few some of you have never heard of. Such as Vincent and Rokon. I've also had Harley flatheads, panheads, shovels, evo and twin cams but never a knucklehead. I still have a Buell XB9R in addition to my Ultra and an old 650 Triumph hardtail.

I can tell you HD's today are just as reliable as any Jap bike. Prior to 1983 they were a POS when AMF owned them. The BMW's I've owned were excellent machines. I ride 8 to 12K per year in weather 35 and up and I don't tow it anywhere. I do agree HD dominates the poser market. The BMW riders dominate the Iron Butt Association.

Since the evolution engine came out they have been rock solid.

They tried to get out of their bad reputation by inviting Porsche to help them with the engines designs. HD are great motorcycles nowadays.
The Night Rod and all other v-rods are impressive bikes and dream of many bikers out there. I am one of them :)..
Here is my fatty that will run circles around any HD out there :))..
