Does anyone with a diesel vehicle use used vegetable oil instead of diesel or has anyone converted their gas tanks to a diesel to be able to use vegetable oil?

How has it worked out?

Some people around here have done the biodiesel thing, I almost did but I could not get a source of used cooking oil, the big companies have contracts here and if I had the money to have some steel containers made, I might be able to but now with the price of diesel down, why bother?

I have not heard of anyone using straight cooking oil or done the heated tank thing and filtering it.

I have run mixtures before as well as 100% veg oil. I have also run tons of 100% bio diesel that was homemade. My motors are Ford PSD and they all ran fine. Expect to change out your filters after the first few batches because it will clean out your lines. We even ran our burners off it.

Haven't done it personally but had a buddy do one of his work trucks and he loves it. Sometimes hard to find someone willing to give up the oil. Plus he says he has to filter it out a lot. But he said it was worth it.
