Do all roof cleaners use masks when applying roof mix?
We have about 150 single family homes in a single development that we are cleaning and I have a crew pumping chems all day. I was actually on one of those crews today and came home with a screeming headache. I didnt have a mask most of the day. What is the long term effect of chlorine?

Yes we use a respirator. Make sure you read the fine print and get the filters rated for chlorine and swap them out. They sell them at Lowes. That cloud coming up from the hot shingles is not something you want to inhale.

Didn't your trailer burn thanks to chlorine????

Buy my rig and I will share the secret to cleaning roofs.

Pressure nor "bleach" via the ARMA recipe are the answer.

PW contractors need to realize the value of a proper roof cleaning.

I have even gone to the length of dummying myself up and gone to work for my direct cimpetition.

I discovered worse practices in there operations. Overkill acid application etching windows and clouding aluminum plating.
.
Its disgusting what this clown in passing himself off as. Sadly I am noit ready to share my whole story on this BUT they wash degreaser/oil/gas/diesel/180 water right on down the drain...and into cheasepeak bay tributaries.

Thanks for the info guys

Just ask Chris Tucker how he is doing after years of breathing the fumes.
I cough all the time, and I wheeze. There is NO "doubt" this chit will fuk you up, just hang out with me an hour or two and see ? I once lived in a Gym, but can no longer work out cause i can't catch my breath anymore. I could get on disability in a heartbeat. Please, don't let it happen to you ?
Wear a respirator for yourself, and your ground person.

Realize that roof cleaning is dangerous work, and think about that all you lurkers out there, before you start cutting prices ?

I'm a stickler about PPE when it comes to handling chems (during mixing) but I've noticed I've become more lax about a respirator during the application. And that not a good thing.
I hadn't taken notice till I was in the middle of a complete wash out last week, some of the engineers come to assess the progress they could stand in the building for more than a few seconds. I remember thinking to myself what's wrong It's only a 2-2-8 mix (my lingo for 2lbs SH-2lbs Potash- 8oz butyl per gallon). In retrospect it appears I've grown TOLERANCE of sorts. It's one I have no intention of fostering. But find it extremely difficult to wear a full-face respirator in this heat......

Anyway thanks for bringing this up, it sort of reaffirms what i need to do.:scratchhead:

Might want to go read from their website, especially the 4th paragraph.
