I was reading cleaner times today, and the Publisher wrote in his column about the safety on teh pressure washing guns, and that a minimum standard is being discussed to make them safer. So I thought that I would conduct a poll...

I never use my safety when I am washing with a trigger gun. Most of the time say 95% of the time I use an open gun and ball valve so I essentially have no saftey. Just quick hands.

I never use the safety locks and as far as I know none of the guys that ever worked for me has either. We did the exact opposite by putting a tennis ball in the gun to keep the gun open.........I did break a few of them over the years...

Hello Scott,

We use ball valves on our pressure washers, so there is no safety!

Our water blaster uses dump guns. If any of my guys would use this and bypass the dump, I would Fire him!

Dave, i'm calling you Mcgiver , That duck tape remind me of that show.

Hi Ron,

Gotta have duct tape :D

We use it for padding. The recoil on our blaster requires a little cushion for the shoulder or hip. When we run it we try to have at least 3 guys so they can pass it around. As the day goes by, 10 minutes on the gun is about all any of us wants to handle! :)

I use the safety every time we pass a gun up a ladder...........or up onto a roof. But thats about it.

Never go anywhere without it on the truck or on the trailer.

Hey what's the funniest think you personally have "rigged" with duct tape...I know there are books and websites with incredible stuff but what is the best "Bama Engineering" you have done?

I made a belt for the wifes vaccum cleaner, It worked for a month!!!

I taped the end of my finger back on with duct tape.
Works great- but gets a little stinky!
