Gum Gum and more Gum

WASH-IT H.B.

I went past a local sports good chain store the other day and the footpath [sidewalk] is black with algae. An easy situation to change with a good wash. The problem is the amount of gum on the concrete. Not being equipped with hot water the thought went through my mind about heating the gum spots with an LPG torch and undercutting it off the concrete with a blade of some description. Any one got any thoughts on this idea??? looking for construction rather than criticism and no I don't have hot water as I said at the start. Just exploring the possibility of an alternative method of gum removal. Does anyone use any other method other than hot water? Trying to think outside the square if you will.

Pete from Cleaned By Pete does the torch method sometimes and tells guys it can be done. Just don't use it on asphalt.
