Door knocking my first week in Wilmington, and came across this. And while a $100 house wash barely qualifies as low ball for a guy from FL, the prices for roof cleaning and deck restoration literally made me do a double take! Maybe he's just a really nice guy. Maybe he's just working at cost with no intention of making a profit. Lol

Josh you are in the same boat I'm in here in W.KY. Your going to have to learn how to EDUCATE the folks you talk to. Put together a pamphlet or flyer with before and after pics of your work along with information on "Proper Procedure" and "Industry Standards" and if your a member of the UAMCC let them know you belong to a national org. and let them know about the UAMCC website (where your listed as a contractor) and that they can go there and find your information. Tell them what the UAMCC is about and what we stand for as a national organization. Your UAMCC membership alone is a great tool to use when selling your service! Membership has it's privileges.

He will be out of business before you know it Josh. I had a lady call me last week from Newport Coast (cheapest house is about $750,000) and this is the way the call went....

Lady: Hi, I'm looking to get a quote to clean a small 2 car driveway, around my pool area and a patio area at my house in Newport Coast. No stains, just a general cleaning is all I want done.
Me: That will be $385 and I can schedule it sometime next week.
Lady: That's outrageous!!!! The last guy cleaned it for $120
Me: Then why aren't you calling him then? That's a great price for all that work.
Lady: His phone just rings and I've tried calling him 4 or 5 times.
Me: That's because he's out of business lady and if I were to charge those prices I would be out of business also.
Click.....she hung up on me
 
I'll move to Woodbridge Ed so you don't feel left out and then you'll have at least 1 competitor. I'll just need a driving lesson though as to how to drive in the snow when winter comes.

Been meaning to call you, but this transition has been really hectic. Have hit a few snags getting licences, insurance, and website updated. I'll give you a call.

Its not easy! I lived in Colorado for a couple years when I was going to Bible College. Lost control of my car more times than I can count. God must have been looking out for me, because I never hit another car. Lots of curbs, and once a light post, but never a car. Too much snow for a Florida boy to handle.
