I would not have it any other way. Hose then swivel connected to the ball valve.
It does help a lot with keeping the hose from kinking up where the gun is, great for sidewalk cleaning, house washing, truck washing, etc....
I have several I use that I keep on the trailer, great when doing large properties. I keep one between every section or two sections of hose so when washing a building on a large property and need at least 300 to 600' of pressure hose, I put one of these in between every hose or every 2 hoses so as I work back towards the trailer, I block a valve and disconnect a hose and leave it there to roll up later or have the helper roll up so you are not dragging hundreds of feet of hose when it is not needed.
This also works great for those huge houses that need 100' of hose just to reach the house from being parked at the street then another few hundred to go around the house and obstacles, especially when you cannot walk around the house or throw the hose over or under the fence on the other side, where you just have to run the hose all around the house to where the fence is then work back to that spot on the other side of the fence. Sometimes you need a lot of hose to do some of these houses and buildings and the ball valves and swivels come in handy.
When they start wobbling a lot I order more of the swivels and then change them out. I used to use the brass swivels but after 2 of them exploding close to me I switched to the mosmatic stainless steel swivels and have been happy since.
