Great Concert

Yesterday a customer gave us a block of tickets to a concert. I thought it would be boring but it was AWESOME!

It was Lou Gramm (from Foreigner), Eddie Money, Rick Springfield, and John Waite.

First off these guys are OLD. :p The youngest one is John Waite and he's 57. The rest of them are all 59 and 60

I missed most of John Waite.

Lou Gramm did two of his solo songs and all the great foreigner songs. He was GREAT, but he moved kindof slow. At the end he put on his 9yr old twins, boy and girl, who sung the "hot blooded" section of that song.

Eddie Money was more of a showman, his performance was good, but he seemed more showy than Lou. His singing was great. Singing backup was his daughter, now 20 who is hot as a firecracker. She was singing the "be my little baby" part that Ronnie Specter used to sing and she was GREAT! She also did a solo and boy can she belt it out! You'll see more of her I bet.

Rick Springfield is an awesome guitarist. But his performance for the crowd was not as good as the others. He must have not realized the geezer crowd was there to sing familiar songs they could sing along with so he sung a bunch of new ones nobody knows and lost the crowd. But Man, Can that guy move around. From a distance you'd think he was a 20 yr old but he's 60!!!! He was jumping all over the place and throwing guitars and all kinds of stuff.

Styx, 38 Special and Reo Speedwagon is next month. I can't wait.

I'm getting so old.

Yup, we're getting older. I use to party with several of the members of Styx, Montrose and Cheap Trick back home in Chicago in the 70's.

Took my wife to San Diego for Valentines Day weekend this year. There was a huge million dollar+ tour bus parked on the east side of the Westin we stayed at. Just as I was about to ask the girl at the check-in desk who the bus belonged to, Ricky Phillips of Styx walked up. I'd like to be able to tell you that he instantly remembered me, but after awhile he did. Met up with Tommy Shaw, Jimmy Young and Ricky later for dinner, then got passes to their show that night. Good times indeed.

Getting old has its benefits.

Cool. We accidentally hooked up with Molly Hatchet in Florida. I can't say I'd like to see any of them again. They had a big pile of sumptn sumptn on the coffee table at first, then a whole bunch of strippers showed up and that pile was gone in about 30 minutes. Then everybody left and my ex was the only female still there and they started trying to get with her. I thought I was going to have to fight my way out of there. NOT FUN.

No wonder we never heard anything out of them again.

Too bad I was not there, I would like to see that concert and the one coming next month too.

Now thats a concert i will go see.

I was able to see KC and the Sunshine Band along with Kool and the Gang in '07 at Chastain Park in ATL. KC wasn't the best I had seen....He is clearly getting older. He had a ton of flashy costumes that the guys in the front row loved. Kool and the Gang was great though. They had a lot of the original band member plus some new talent with them.

The Aerosmith and ZZ Top would be something I would love to see also!
