Google Adwords

Stephen, I have been using Google Adwords for the last year or so. The pros is it has brought in a few calls with the con being it rarely get clicked on. I have spent very little on it since only a few have clicked on it. Google even gave us a free trial to get started.

I used it for a year of so. I think it depends how well your site comes up for free. My website comes up any where from #1-#3 on the organic searches. It does work but you get a lot of bogus clicks that you have to pay for. I don't pay for it right now but I do use Google Analytics whick I like very much. Gives me a lot of good info.

I had to shut mine off I was getting so many calls.

Mark has a good point as High Tide always comes up #1 or #2 in just about any conceivable word search combination with St Augustine. Perhaps that is why we don't get that many clicks on the Adwords.

Thanks for the info guys, I am just looking into it just now - had the website structure redone (still work in progress on content and optimization), and it came to mind. It was a joomla based site previously and I had nothing but problems with being hacked and eventually lost the whole site and all the SEO and high (ish) rankings we had for search terms. Now using wordpress and the rebuilding of a 'web presence' starts over! I much prefer the wordpress platform as I have more control over a lot of things!

Our best results have come from direct contact and referrals as we focus mainly on retail and shopping center owners, managers and developers.

Ours is WP also and like it very much. Have not had any major problems (knock on wood).

We use it anytime we get free and after it goes over the free amount we shut it off.
