2007 is just a few months away. I was just wondering if you set goals for 2006. Are you close to or have you met those goals for your business this year

Every year I try to set a goal or 2 for my business. Some I meet and some I don't. I had made a goal or promise I'd get more organized in my office paper work, I havent made any real progress on that. Guess I'll have something to try for in 2007

Money wise for the biz I want increase the work coming in and I have. I have made as much as last year and that was as of August.

Another goal is to increase my customer base. I like dealing with and targetting Property Management companies that deal with condominium complexes & towers. I have added 2 new PM companies and both I've targetted for almost 3 years and I have now gotten at least 2 decent sized projects from both

What were some of your goals for 2006............and have you met them?

Jeff...of all your posts on TGS, your business skills and determination are some of my favorite to read. I admire the heck out of you the way you go out there and deal with these PM's and just generally how you run your business. Good job on that!!! :)

As far as goals, I have never really set any, but here lately, I've been convinced that I need to. I mean, I knew basically want I wanted out of my business, and things like that, but now I have seen the light and I am beginning to get in the habbit of putting everything to the last detail down on paper. Your thread will get me thinking about 07's goals now...thanks a lot, ya jerk :D As if my 4-5 hours a night were enough.....oh well, I'm still young.

If I may offer some advice on your getting more organized goal: Set up a system, down to the last little detail of what/how you want your paperwork etc handled. For instance:

After doing a bid this is the formula that will be followed--

Get out of truck
print out "thank you" letters for customers
put in envelope and place by door in "mail outbox" bin

Just something like that....I know that we get sidetracked with kids and all, but just plan it, and do it. You are prolly like me and have your "own" system, but you can't do that. Set it up in writing so that if somebody were to take your place, they could do it exactly how you do....

Hope this helps....

Thanks Anthony,

As everyone knows on TGS & TCN I love my PM's, they are my money!!!!!!! I work very hard to develop good relationships with them and it has paid off

As for setting goals I finds it helps me throughout the year, gives me something to shoot for and gives me drive and I'm sure its like that for others. Whatever your hope/goals are Anthony think of them and work towards them.

My long term goal is to be the largest & most respected PW contractor in Myrtle Beach area. I am growing every year and am very well respected for the short time I'm in biz. In my day dreaming time I look and see now I might have 1% of the condo complexes in the area, but I think what if I had 10% or 50%

Like I always say JL Pressure Washing The Future Pressure Washing KING of Myrtle Beach!!!!

Anthony, you said set it up so someone could just come in and take over. One of my fears is someday I got sick or hurt, theres no way someone could come bail me out if I couldnt run my biz. Hell I'd have to hire someone to wheel me around in a wheel chair

Enough of my babbling what was everyone elses goal for 2006
