General Pump - Hammerhead repair

[Tally Roof Cleaning]

I think the swivel assembly blew out on my GP - Hammerhead. (This one doesn't have the zerk fitting). Should I try the minor repair kit, major repair kit or just buy a new swivel assembly (with a zerk fitting)?

I went threw the same thing with my GP. Sent it out for a rebuild. Then it came back with the same problem. The vender said he called GP and they can't be rebuilt. Who knows! So I bought a wisper Wash. End of Story.

For an original replacement, you need to go to that guy. That price is below my cost for the Hammerhead swivel.

BUT, I just called BE, and their swivel is a drop in replacement.

Same happened to me. The ones without the fitting are absolute garbage. I finally bought 2 whisperwash classics and they run circles around hammer heads.

Hey Russ ... I found a YouTube video of a guy breaking down a BE swivel before he inserts the drop in replacement. Good reference material for some customers looking for a step-by-step breakdown.

Art and Larry, thanks for the recommendation. I think my next surface cleaner will be a whisperwash instead of dumping $160 every 8 months for a new swivel. I wonder if the swivel with the zerk fittings are any better though. I know in the past they had a zerk fitting, then they eliminated it and went to sealed bearings and now the replacement swivel has the zerk fitting again.

Replace the whole swivel only get the one with a zerk. Or get a classic

I just threw one away too...it was a backup and probably only had 10 hours on it...didn't seem like it was worth fixing!

We have 6 of these and you need to order the NON SEALED major bearing kit. Then we drilled and put in our own zirk fittings. Problem solved! Grease every 8-10 hrs.

How does the BE swivel compare to the mosmatic? I need to change mine after reading a post from Al.
Also is there a 4 nozzle bar for a hammerhead?
