Fort Knox!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet, ever seen the movie "The Italian Job" ? Well dont worry, I am Irish. Hey maybe "The Irish Job" Nice safe. Did ya get that on ebay ?

I've got a small one built into the wall of my office but I've out grown it.
I found another one at price club thats larger and has a file drawer built into it. Thats what I'm going to get next. I keep my hand guns in my small one. My shotguns and rifles are trigger locked and hidden in other areas out of reach.

My safe is fireproof and the first one was about 200. The new one I'm getting with the file dwarer is also fire proof and its about 340 but it's got twice the size inside than the old one. I have it built into the wall above ground level in case theres a fire I don't want it under water from the firemen.
As for how I protect my family and home I won't go into details but when I was in the military I was an ordinancemen.

My specialty? anything that goes boom! <G>
I also used to help train the local junior olympic shooting team about four years ago.

Henry,

Junior Olympics shooting... hmm. What did they use? For accuracy I like the 6PPC--- 6mm necked down. Stolle action. Made right here in Ohio. My father makes sharp shooting guns. Turns the barrels and everything. He's into the tourneys and usually wins them. My uncles were Olympic sharp shooters at one time. Ever seen a guy shoot a quarter out of the air with both a pistol and a rifle. I had an uncle that could. Unbelievable until you see it with your own eyes.

Anway, I like the safe Ron. I have to get one, one of these days. Just picked up a Remmington 870 wingmaster 12 guage and no safe to put it in. Hang it above the fireplace I guess.

henry,i have a friend around here who has a 6 foot safe and rumor has it is "wired internally" to go boom if the wrong people mess with it..could you shed some light on how he might have done this.

Tim,

Sounds like it could be a myth to scare folks.

Hopefully he has no children AND remembers the safety switch every time!

While wiring a safe to explode sound cute, it is illegal and if someone gets hurt (even in process of burglary) the owner will be spending a long time in stir.

We had a nutcase around here that hooked up explosives around his home and killed a burglar with it - he is now spending the rest of his life behind bars. Laws don't justify killing of people for burglary or theft.

I won't respond to your post Paul but you are right, there are laws against many things.. I believe breaking and entering is one of them. I know if I shoot someone sneaking into my house and they fall out the window I'm dragging them back in... <G>

As for rigging safes and anything else, yes it's possible but you really have to know what your doing.

EOD is quite a familiar term to me so is aviation ordinancemen, seal, special forces of many branches. I prefer the term we used to use in my shop, Population control technicians.. <G>

I was based in Virginia beach mostly. I spent time at damn neck, oceana and norfolk. I'm glad I'm out of the military now though, I had enough fun.

Henry

this guy is a gun maker, competition match pistols and was told has been flown to other countries for some type of manufacturing.

i believe the safe does what the sign on it says but i dont know how any one could ever get into it or move it.

he now races NHRA and deals with a lot of undesirable folks, that may be the reason for the sign.

It weighs about 700 pounds and will be bolted in th floor from the interior.

John t. its is fire proof to a certain temp. the interior brinks safe is also fire proof.

Mike. I dont really think someones coming over to Rob me. the safe is not at my home. if they want to break into my office or come by with a gun they can have the combination. nothing is worth that. however the misses doesnt want the hand guns at the house. for the most part i have some papers that i need secure. $$$ also documents...
