Fire destroys Red Feather Cafe

A fire this morning at the Red Feather Café destroyed the interior of the bar and restaurant.
Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services responded to the fire at the café in downtown Red Feather Lakes at 5:45 a.m.
The inside of the building is a total loss although the outside walls are still standing., according to Larimer County spokeswoman Eloise Campanella.
No one was injured and the surrounding buildings were protected.
The cause of the fire, which is believed to have started in the attic, has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
The café underwent about $64,000 in renovations in November 2003 when a new kitchen and dining area were installed.
Glacier View Volunteer Fire Department, Crystal Lakes Fire Department, Livermore Volunteer Fire Department, Red Feather Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, Poudre Canyon Fire Protection and Poudre Fire Authority also responded to the blaze in the village of about 1,000 year-round residents. .
