Ford F150

That is quite high, but if the price is right and you know a little about fixing it (or have a reliable mechanic) it may not be a bad option. Have it looked over, pay for a "buyer's check" or what ever your mechanic calls it. Ask the mechanic about that year truck and what problems to expect. I've got a similar van with 185k, but I rebuilt the engine at 140k, right about where that truck is...

Sorry forgot to mention, I also had the oil cooler go out on that van, flooded the radiator with oil. That was about 3 months ago and I've been replacing hoses as I go. Just today I noticed water leaking from around the water pump gasket so I'll be changing that this weekend...
Aside from that, it's been a great van and investment...

The last Ford van I sold had 237,000 miles and is still going strong. Never had the head off. Only brakes, hoses, belts, u-joints etc.

I've had 4 other Ford trucks with gas engines with over 200K when sold. No issues. I wouldn't say I'd go on a cross country trip pulling a trailer with them but for a good solid work truck they were great.

I think a big part is how they've been taken care of.

2004 f-150 crew cab -XLT 5.4 L v8 168,000 miles

This is the best truck, I have ever had.
The engine light came on adavance auto said it is the cats, There are 2 on the truck. $700. for them if I put them in. But still runs great even with the light on.
Myself I wouldnt pay no more than the trade in at kelly blue book

2003 F150 Super Crew 4wd with 132,000. At least half of those miles the truck had a loaded 16' trailer behind it. I even put a plow on the front of it last winter and pushed snow. I've never had any major problems, just normal maintanence. I've changed the tires, brakes, oil, battery and alternator.
I have heard that the front ends start needing a rebuild around 150,000.

Well, I hate to reopen a dead thread, but that van of mine...
what I thought was a water pump turned out to be in intake manifold. Couldn't do it myself, and it cost $1K. I got it back this morning, and suddenly reverse doesn't work! This has been a rough month!
