A Blackberry Storm, and 3 inches of water do not make for good operation characteristics.
In other words, my phone is probably dead for the weekend.

Hopefully you have insurance.

After dropping them in the pool, the lake, the, soon to be reclaimed :smile-square:runoff, I've started taping my buttons and put a silicon skin on it. I'm going to find an acoustically transparent tape for the mic and speaker eventually. I just drop them in the water all the time.

dropped mine in 5 gallons of bleach one time.....Sure got clean but did not survive

This is why I have a Casio G-zone...Heck I can go swiming with it in my pocket.

If you are fast when you first drop them and remove the battery, they may survive. Let them dry for a long time then replace battery and you might get lucky.

Insured, yes. I have other phones that I can use anyways, that are nearly as good. I have been trying teh drying it out routine, but I think I can put a fork in it. Funny thing is, it was working when I first took it out of the puddle.
