footwear

Looking for a better shoe specifically for hood cleaning. Have had moderate success with Vibram soles, but would like something more secure on greasy surfaces. Any suggestions?

I get all work footwear at redwing shoes, They have something for every job out there...Not sure if they have stores in your area..

One thing that I have bought are interlocking rubber pads, as found is Home Depot. With work boots and these non slip pads work very well. Non Slip interlocking rubber pads 24X24.

I got knee high rubber boot from Shoe's for crews, I just looked and didn't see the same boots, I imagine they still sell them, they are perfect for pressure washing, no more wet feet and the slip resistent soles are reasonably effective. My guys like them and we paid less than 30 bucks for a pair, we have some that are a year old and still going.
I hope they still sell them, if any one finds out let me know I havn't needed to buy any in a while. I guess they could have stopped selling them. the only problem I have found is that thier wide sizes are not very wide, I need a 12 eeee and there wide size doesn't even come close.

I don't even rate as big foot in my family, my nephew is 18 years old, 6'8' and wears a size 16 shoe.

Thanks for the responses. For me I think the non-slip pads will be the best. I sympathize with Bryan - all with whom I work range from 225+ to in excess of 300 lbs. I am the only one less than 225 therefore I get to scramble up the ladders, etc. Can't afford any falls - I am brittle.
Thanks, Richard
