FlowJet and compressor question

I am looking at two options: FloJet or Yamada Kynar. Any recommendations? The price tag on the Yamada has me leaning to the flojet.

I have a compressor that I am thinking of being an option with the flojet I just want to check. I have a single tank 6 CFM at 90 PSI compressor. Will that be a good match for the flojet?

Also what do I need in the way of an air dryer for the compressor so I don't have water going into the pump? Would you recommend a pressure regulator to make sure it doesn't ever peak beyond 80 PSI? The pump is rated 10 to 80 PSI and up to 10 gpm.

Does this pump handle the Sh well? I haven't heard of problems but just wanted to check.
Any other recommendations?

Hey Jarred I like the Flojet for the price and reliability. I have had two (my own fault). That compressor would be great for the flowjet. Depending on the model yamada you are looking at it will most likely not be enough The NDP15 needs more cfm. As far as air dryers and regulators do not go cheap on these get good ones from sears, northern tools, hd or lowes. Stay away from harbour freigh.

Thanks Kory,

Can you give me any recommendations on models for the air dryer and regulator so I can get some direction. Have you found a model that works well?

Hey JAred How are you? Sorry I missed your call the other day. I was gonna tell you to call Paul and looks like you did any way.

Hey Doug,
Figured you were pretty busy. Paul helped out and gave me some numbers on the yamada but it may be a little rich for me at this point. I have a compressor that will work for the flojet so im leaning that way. I hope your busy but not too. The spring has busted open for us. Im behind the 8 ball getting this system up and running but I think it will address our commercial needs.

Yeah I thought about the Yamada and may still go with that. Actually iwas going to go with an all flow from Lori in Florida, but aftre leaving 5 messages and never a call back, I decided to call Paul. Paul fixed me up a nice little system that I can upgrade as I build my roof cleaning side. Right now I am only doing about 3 roofs a week, once I get to 1 or two everyday I will upgrade it.

I ahve heard nothing but good things about the Flo Jet. Kory knows his stuff.

Thanks Paul I will do that. If I get busy feel free to call me.

For the air dryer should I use a 2 stage system or is a single stage sufficient? There were a couple I was looking at for between $140 to $260. Any suggestions on a brand and price range. It looks like I could easily spend $500!?

Home Depot has an air regulator/dryer for $69. Paul set me up with flojet and a nice ss reel, swivel and all the accoutrements! Looking forward to playing with the new set-up. I am replumming the my clean water tanks 400 ga so it can double as a large sh tank 200 ga or a clean water tank when doing flat work. My trailer isnt large enough for anything but a 35 ga dedicated chem tank. Having to be creative!

Here is how an air compressor works Jared, the pressure of the compressor sets the pressure of your pump, and the CFM sets the flow. 6 CFM is a small compressor, but it will still power the Yamada. It just will not achieve it's rated flow, so why get it ? Get the little FloJet with THAT compressor.
