Question for the Florida Guys...

Have been calling Univar for a couple of weeks now to set up account to allow me to buy Sodium Hydroxide... not getting my calls returned - just put through to some sales person's voicemail.

Where do you guys get your Caustic? Does anyone use Univar - got a name that I could call someone direct?

Really need to get a local supplier... ordered stuff off the internet a month or so ago - worked great but the cost plus shipping was ridiculous.

I get my caustic from Univar in Mobile, AL. They charged me $40 per 50lb bag, but I only ordered one bag to try as a sample. They set me up on 30 day terms without me even asking for it. They allowed me to charge my first order without any credit application. They also have a pretty good price on chlorine. They quoted me $103.00 for a 53 gallon barrell. I thought that was a decent price. good luck

I use Univar on a regular basis, never had any problems at all.

I would give you a direct number, but it wouldn't do you much good, since basically your "sales person" is always somebody that works at your local Univar office.

Before I ordered the first time, all I really did was fill out a contact form on their website, and somebody called me within 2 days, I set up my account with that person, and she gave me a direct number.
