Fitting size

I just got a Be surface scrubber and an 18' extendable. I need to convert both of their fittings to female quick connect by male. I ended up using my calipers to get the true size which is 5/8". Well I can't find any 5/8 quick connects on any PW site. Are they really 5/8 because they look like 1/2. I know I know wth, maybe it's because i've been awake for 36 hours.
 
Chances are they're 3/8". 3/8" fittings at end of most pressure hoses, and 1/4" at end of most lance guns. I remember till my eyes got used to it, they looked larger than they were. When it doubt take off old fitting and measure, for me fitting ID was much closer to true sizes, and there's prob a better place to measure than that.

I'm sure a lot of places have different terms, for me an easier explanation was female fittings-couplers and male fittings-plugs. Then you can go by 3/8" male plug / 1/4" female coupler, etc.
 
Just curious but why the extendable wand?
