First UV hood I have seen.

I saw my first hood with UV lights in it.
It is very similar to a water wash hood - with an access at the top of the plenum where the lights are. The lights are in a removable stainless frame and they sit right across the top of the plenum horizontally.
I am checking to see how much those lights cost to replace :eek:

There are 2 rows of filters 1 is a set of baffles and the second is a row of thin stainless mesh filters.

It is a new place that has been open for a few weeks. The charbroiler fan is aready dirty so they'll need our services just like every one else. :D

As I recall, "mesh filters SHALL not be used"... Are these filters part of the listing for this hood? probably not!
 
Its a mystical and magical light that disintegrates grease into miniscule atom like particles as the grease laden air passes by. I wonder, could we strap a UV light to our auto exhaust...and save the ozone layer?
 
Too soon to tell how well it works.....1 fan is already getting dirty and it has been 2 weeks.
We'll see in a month.
I plan to check back at 30 days, 60 days and 90 days just to see for myself.
 
Persistent guy that Gibson. I think he obtains his clientele not through his brilliant salesmanship, but rather they cave in from sheer exhaustion and a severe headache.

They would work if placed inside the entire ducting system and at angles that would hit every inch of the hood.
I dont see it as a major concern at this time,or anytime for that matter.
just another GIZMO.

On the other hand, if somebody designs a wash water system that actually works.
Then we mite be looking for a new career. Dont see that happening anytime soon either. GOAT
 
I think this is a great opportunity to see one of these things in action from day one.
I think that since they have made such a huge investment in these UV hoods they need our services even more than before to make sure everything is clean and in good running order ;) .
