Finding the owner of a strip mall

Dan, the owners usually have a management company hired that takes care of the property and all the dealing with tenants and such.

The best thing is to find the large chain managers of a store located in the center. I use too think small mom and pops locations where better. Mom and pop don’t like giving info; GM’s of large chains don’t care.

Forget about the leasing people unless they are a dual real-estate management company.

Contact your county assessor or tax collector. They will have the registered owner of the property as well as an address

That will get you the owner name, and MAYBE an address to the management company, IF the tax information is set up to go to the management company and not the owner. I know in trying to track down apartment complex owners that sometimes the property is owned by a corporation that is owned by another corporation that is owned by another, and so on...it can get pretty difficult to find the person who can or will make a decision! As you said, best to try to find the management company and the PM who can make a decision, or who knows how to get in touch with the owner.
