Fertilizer stain?

Hey guys, While at a family Easter gathering I was asked by the neighbor to take a look at what he thinks are fertilizer stains coming out of the bottom of some planters.
It is colored concrete, and it is not mixed into the concrete. The color was applied after the concrete was pored.
He said he had tried to pressure wash it with his home depot washer and it didn't budge it.
Looking for some advice on this one!
Thanks!

Had something similar on brick and safe restore would not touch it....never did find anything that worked

Most of the time this requires an acid to remove it. Just test a spot first to make sure it is not going to take off the paint.

I've dealt with that before. Hit it with Iron Out from HD or Lowes. It's gonna keep happening though unless they put some kind of tray under there to catch all the runnoff water.

Thanks for the replies.
Larry, the iron out won't fade the color in the concrete?
Thank again!
Don't just put it on and walk away.... As long as you stay with it and keep rinsing as it's pulling it out you will be fine. Sometimes a rinse and repeat is needed but whenever I deal with delicate surfaces I am always careful and stay on top of it.

Try some Lysol toilet bowl cleaner (blue gel). Do a test spot first on a dry surface and keep an eye on it. Rinse when you are done. I have seen it clean when other chems wouldn't.
