Family Tattoos Anyone?

Do any of you have tattoos that are family related? I got one on my arm when we were in Maui that is like a hawaiian tribal band, but the band is actually my 4 kids names, with my wife's name above.

I am hooked now, and want something on my back that has my last name, with several smaller words under it that are my meaning of family, like: love, support, respect, caring, family, togetherness, honor, protect, etc.

Just curious if anyone has any that you're proud of. I only get them if it is something meaningful. My oldest son will be 17 next year, and is trying to talk me into letting him get a matching one...

Hey mike,

I have my family coat of arms and crest on my arm. Fifteen years after having it done I don't regret it, not like getting a cartoon character. Now I want a back tat that can be blended in to my shoulder and the crest. No kids yet but I will be adding names when that happens.

have a good weekend!

I also have my kids names on my arm and some art work covering the Ex's name..lol It use to be a sword going thru a heart but after 30 yrs it looks more like a butter knife.

Butter knife, LOL. Maybe you can have the heart changed to a bagel and have the butter knife spreading cream cheese.

Thats funny because as a kid in NY I was a baker, I baked bagels & bialys, Italian breads and rolls.

Here is mine to honor my dad. This was special to me. He was actually my step dad and he married my mom when I was 1 1/2 and I had 5 brothers and sisters. So he married a woman with 6 kids and no money. I always called him by his first name (Bob) and it has always bothered me that we did not call him dad. I was the youngest child, so the older kids called him Bob so I did too.

This was just my way of trying to honor him after he died. If you can't read it, it says "Forever in the hands of God" Dad 5-18-01.

He never referred to us as his "step" children and never corrected anyone when they called him Mr. Sexton which was my last name his was Wilson. So I now have 2 "step" children and we do not use the word "step" in our house. I know I can never live up to his example, but I try every day.

That's cool Mark. I'm sure I'd feel the same way if I had step kids.
