Envenlopes

There was an interesting post in another thread http://www.propowerwash.com/board/upload/showthread.php?t=16165 (post 4) talking about printing vs. hand writing an envenlope.

On my own personal day to day operations, all envenlopes that go out are printed. However, I do from time to time hand write in the to field and do not put a return address on them. Realizing that if they are not delivered, I will not know, but by hand writing it, it appears to be coming from a friend / someone they know vs. coming from a business. I have had success in the past with envenlopes getting opened from some people that would not generally open an envenlope from a company that they do not do business with. I will totally agree that if everything that goes out is hand written, it looks cheap and unprofessional, but there is also power in a hand written envenlope.

I agree that people are more likely to open up hand-written envelopes but I would get someone to address them who has nice hand writing, mine is very bad and it is hard to read so I would rather print out labels or find someone to address them for me.

It Marketing yes!!!!!

I sent a contract years ago to a corp. Years later after I won there business they told me why I didnt get it.

Standing around the conference table they took all the ones hand written proposals an put them asside. Then they opened the ones and disposed of the ones that did not include the 7 copies they requested. Out of the 7 the eliminated 3 and chose from the four who followed directions.

I always type the address from now on. I always include mutiple copies if i know they have more than one decsions maker.
