Employees

Josh,

You have high expectations.

Dodsonish,

I've had luck expanding my search outside of the city walls. For instance, put an ad in the papers in Eureka and Washington (i'm from stl), and see what happens. Theoretically, labor wages will be lower further out, so you may tempt better workers with city wages. And in my opinion, you'll hit a better quality potential employee outside of the city. A stereotype, but works for me. Good luck, and hey, the Cards are awesome so everything is OK, :)

And they are all from the same immediate family...

Employees. Thats plural Ya know- 2 or more.
What happened to the "one man band"?

Come on now every one knows you can't clean hoods with one person. ;)

Thanks for the tip Jon. I haven't tried venturing out in those areas.

I've tried using the temp to hire thing with a temp agency and basically got the results I had anticipated. One guy passing through the state, I think on his way to a Rainbow gathering, one guy with a criminal history, so he can't land a job directly from anyone, a laid off truck driver, who can drive your truck to the job, but doesn't like unloading his own cargo, and another guy who spent too much money on getting his prison tattoo fixed the week before and didn't have gas money to get to work after Tuesday.

Maybe I'll try the other people's family thing.

mbryan,

I am curious...do you offer benefits?? Do you let your guys drive their work vehicles home?? Do you pay hourly/salary/profit share, etc.?? I'd like to scrape your brain a little if ya don't mind.....two years with no turnover is very impressive. Thanks for the advice,

Your only as good as the peolple behind you.
