Hey guy just picked a 4gpm pw up today while the 8gpm is being repaired. Will the 8gpm down steam valve work okay with a 4gpm machine? Any adjustment to my house mix needed? If that valve won't work I'll apply chem with a 12v pump.
Probably not Joe. You might have problems. Go pick up a 2-3 gpm injector at norther tool. The one you have might work, but you aren't going to get a good amount of soap with it.
Injectors work by creating a pressure difference between the input and the output. With a bigger orifice that the 8 gpm injectors use, it makes it very hard to get a good draw or if it will work at all. The hose alone creates back pressure which keeps the injector from drawing adequate soap. I use a 3-5 gpm injector on my 10 gpm machine just so I can get good soap with a long hose run.
Funny you should ask. Today I used my 4gpm machine with my 8gpm soap injector. It sucked soap about twice as fast as using it on the 8gpm machine. I was cleaning a barn with lots of spider webs and dirt so the extra soap worked great. I am not sure why it pulled more soap, I thought it may not work at all.
