Ok I have a question. Im sure it has been asked before so do beat me up to bad. My questions is this. I have my chemical injector located on my hose reel. So when the water flow through it picks up the chemical. At this point I have now way to turn off the water that comes from my tank through the hose. By allowing that I am adding more water to my chem ratio then needed. CAN I PUT A SHUT OFF VALVE SO NO WATER WILL COME THROUGH THE HOSE, BUT STILL HAVE THE CHEMICALS. Or will this method hurt the pump?

I hope I explained it right. That was the way I played it out in my head lol

Thanks,
Bryan

I don't understand exactly what you're asking. Starving the pump for water won't aid the chemical ratio at the injector at all and will mess your pump up.

Bryan I don't thing you are asking the question right or something. It sounds like you are asking if you can cut the water off coming from your pump or something like that. As Danny said, the water flowing through your chem injector is what draws the chem up into your hose using what is called the Venturi effect, the water creates a neg pressure in your chem tubing which draws the chem into your hose.

That was very, very confusing, pleas post some pictures and explain it a little different.

Pictures really help in these situations, without them it might take a while.

I was going to reply to him earlier but I could not beleive that he had his injector hooked to his water supply hose?

I dont have the injector hooked up to my water supply hose it is hooked up on the hose reel on the pressure hose. But what everyone is saying make since. I wasnt sure if I cut down the amount of water I was pulling through the pressure hose would effect the pump. But now I know not to do it that way. The other company I worked for really didnt answer any question I ever asked. The way they had theirs hooked up was, you turned off the water that was coming out of the 525 holding tank and just pulled the chemical through the pressure jose from a 35 gallon chem tank. But their injector was near the pump.

Bryan still very confusing, if they cut off their water supply and still "pulled" chem through the pressure hose, they were not using an injector. Just don't starve your pump for water and damage it!

I still can't understand what he was trying to say, pictures and an explanation would help to try to help him out.
