downstreaming an upstreamer??

I am about to purchase a rig that is set up for upstreaming chemicals. That means whatever chemical I decide to use will be running thru the pump. I plan on doing mostly flatwork and move into fleet washing. My question is does this limit me as far as what chemicals I can use when running thru the pump? Would downstreaming be a better method so as not to limit the chem? It also has a seperate SureFlo pump from a another chem tank. What chems can the SureFlo handle? What do you guys suggest for flatwork.
Thanks for any info.

something I remeber reading on my whitco unit from ong ago .. It came with upstream injection going thru the pump.. The Owners Manual said do not run harsh chemical thru the pump " Clean Water Only" This I thought was the dumbest disclaimer I had ever read... So guess what I use downstream when I clean concrete if its a large job if its a small job I use apump up sprayer.. I just thought it was stupid to put upstream injection on something and then tell people they can only run clean water thru the pump... One thing to remember is if you downstream rinse that injector and all hoses out real good , those downstream injectors stop up easy and you also dont want crap staying in your wire braided hose like chlorine and bleach and caustic cause this will eat the mess out of your hose.. And Double braid high pressure hose is high as hell... ( I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME IN THE SPRING )

I like mine at the reel too. And I do have a shut off valve there. When I get finished and I'm near the truck, I take off my gun, turn off the chemical valve, open the high pressure shut off valve at the end of the hose and let the chemical line as well as the high pressure hose get rinsed out in about 20 to 30 seconds. Shut off the motor and I'm done. No worries.

As far as the Shurflo, I've run everything from sealer to pure chlorine through it. The last one lasted me about 3 years. This one is about a year old now. You could make a PVC manifold and connect it to your Shurflo with a series of shut off valves all leading to different containers. This would allow you to move liquids from one container to another without much hassle. All you have to do is turn on the ONE you need and leave the rest of the valves off.
