Downstreamers for pressure washing and KEC

Greaser of the Year
Would anybody be willing to share their downstreaming methods and setup with a lowly greaser? I need pics and such, because I'm not to up to snuff on downstreaming. X-jetting is out of the question because of the whole carrying around a bucket thing, but a chem tank or bucket setting at the pump of the pw would be cool.

Also, what would be the best one? Super Suds Sucker? Adams?

I use the super suds sucker with 250' of hose. It has a great draw and is very consistent when running more pressure line. Feel free to give a call and I'll fill you in on the other details.

That is the same one I use and the one I tell everyone to get.

What are you going to be downstreaming Ant?

We use a stainless steel injector that we get from Spray Mart. They last over a year and have a great draw rate. I never tried the sud sucker but have been hearing good things.

If anyone is using one I'd like to know how they handle bleach, caustics and acids. Does the ball rot, or jets corrode?

I haven't had any problems yet.... It gets flushed out farily well with the rinse water. I did notice when I was blowing my lines out during the colder months, I got a lot more rust. The only thing I really winterize is the pump. At a 10:1 draw rate this Allison will suck the bottom out of a bucket. I was using the Adams before, but the draw rate was inconsistent when I added more hose for those bigger jobs.

Yeah , adding extra hose, or putting on a long wand with a decrease hose diameter will effect the draw rate of almost any injector. Even a dual nozzle holder with a smaller outlet size will effect draw.

Thanks for the info

I already have the video and would be happy to give it to you.

I'm on vacationa and will get it to you early next week.

I don't need the kit you offered so if anyone else needs it give it to them

I'm haveing trouble with my signature.
I added Roof Cleaning NJ and it kicked the Power Wash Nj over to the left.

Can you help me out?

We did that along time ago but it restricts water flow too and you lose about 30% of your volume.

Try this, fill a bucket with the injector in, time it ,and then take it out and do it again. You'll see the difference.

The injector will effect everything from surface cleaner operation to rinsing.

We use 200 feet of 3/8 hose w/long wands and those stainless injectors work great.

The trick is to put a 5/16 hose in the long wand instead of a 1/4 inch hose and the volume is much greater allowing for a bigger orifice size in the injector. A 1/4 inch hose is actually like 3/16 or smaller inside diameter and really restricts flow.

I use the Allison Super Suds Sucker, I run STRONG caustic mixes through it, and it has served me well...surprising, since it isn't stainless steel.

Anthony, what is the intended application for ds'ing? I use a twist type nozzle for wood and a four way nozzle for houses/buildings.
I want to try it on maintained accounts that have very little grease and don't warrant the Foam...

first person that replys they will make a down stream video will receive a free complete pwi down streaming kit.
good idea Ron, and make sure you include the actual setup, not just a vid of you DS'ing. I like Michael K's vid with the ball valve setup, but it doesn't help me much with the actual setup at the pw.

Ron, If I knew how to use this computer and my camera better I would just for the sake of saving people from lugging around buckets!
Yeah, X-jetting is out of the question, I refuse to take buckets on the roof.

I normally use a 0040 or a hose barb. The only times I really had problems with my old injectors was when I added more hose to the existing 250'.

I just tried the 1/4 hose bard works well with my 6gal and 11gal, thanks for the "Tip" (cost less than a dollar!)
I have mostly xjetted homes
If you downstream for a home...do you draw straight from you chemical without cutting? What it you want to add bleach? If you do add bleach how long will that last before it lose its effectiveness?
How much chemical, bleach and water (if any) do you put in your 5 your downstreaming from?
