Doomsday 2012

I've been working on the computer all day today sending out some fliers & magnets I just had made up to this years customers. While I was working I was was watching some things on the History Channel on some doomsday predictions. Fairly interesting I suppose. From Nostradamus, Merlin the magician, the Mayan Calendar, and other predictors point to December 21, 2012. If you stop and think about the possibility of that being the truth, its scary.

My thoughts are I'm gonna live today like there's no tomorrow. People that I love know it, people that are less than tolerable are likewise going to know it. I've lived life to the fullest & don't have any regrets.

Anyone have any thoughts on these "predictions"?

I predict if you don't pay the IRS between now and then. You'll be in big trouble after that date. The Mayan calendar didn't work out too well for them.

Jason , The future is unknown. I live and plan like I have a future. If I have planned for the future and it is over in 2012 I have lost nothing. If I have not planned for tomorrow and nothing happens, I have lost everything. I still Live life though without regret.

I guess it is just my upbringing. Victorian work ethic, work now, play later.

I really want to see what being 53 is like... That is two days after my birthday.

Scott maybe you will go out with a bang at 53 when and if the end comes. Myself I think it is all a bunch of bull. To end the world there would have to be something drastic happen that would end everything at one time. Someone say Nuclear War between all nations? Hugh

I'm still going to party like it's 1999...:D

Jason---

Those predictions always falter.

It is my reading of the Bible that Jesus will return to the earth some day, eyes shall see him upon arrival. (i can pull scripture if necessary)

So I've always thought if that is the case, then there will never be a destruction so terrible that all humanity is wiped from the planet----obviously there will still be people to witness his return.

Good Luck with that... When he returns if i was him i would keep that to myself. Bellevue Hospital is full with people who said they were jesus christ.

In this day and time, do you think anyone would believe him even if it was to actually happen?

These predictions haven't changed my thoughts on life or anything like that, I'd be right in there with all the crazies in bellvue like Nick mentioned if it did.
The way I look at it is all the people acting upon the fear these occult doomsday philosophies forecast are very weak-minded, overly impressionable individuals who'll wind up trying to catch a ride on the tail end of a comet because somebody told them to. These "prophesies" or any others that have happened in the past are all one in the same, interesting yet scary to think about possibilities of them actually occuring, but laughable when the time comes, and life goes on.
