Don't recommend HOTSY equipment

If anyone is planning on buying a hotsy machine I hope that you read this!

i was convinced by my local supplier several years ago that hotsy has the best warranty of any manufacture out their! "They cover the brass for a lifetime regardless of wash out or freezing!"
last week I started one of our hotsy machines and the head bolt pushed up, this had happened to us in the past where the bolt would slowly work it's way out over time and the threads got messed up and they replaced it that was in the summer I think two years ago, but now since it happened in the winter time they are saying it froze, and we don't cover that anymore! Even though it was protected with every antifreeze full strength!

i have called the warranty department numerous times leaving messages and no one will call me back, so not only the product support sucks, so does the customer service!
 
Do you have a copy of the warranty from when you bought the machine? If so, I would make sure they understand that is the warranty you bought the machine under, and expect it to be honored. Of course, it will cost money, and by the time you fight it out, you will have just been better off buying a higher quality machine.
 
A guy I have been doing a bunch of work for went out and bought a brand new ditch witch with a built in pressure washer. He wanted heat, so he told the dealer to put on a burner, they went to hotsy for the burner and he has had nothing but problems. For the first 2 weeks it either covered the engine in diesel, or just didn't work at all. Hotsy sent out 4 different guys, and it still took 2 weeks. I could have had the problem diagnosed and fixed in 30 mins, but I didn't want to get involved. So last week when it was finally working, burner only gets up to 140`F, tech told the guy it was a faulty thermostat, I laughed as the burner was running when ever water was flowing, ie it was too small.

Hotsy out here equals over priced garbage which you will regret you even looked at it.

I have dealt with and heard other issues with their stuff. I have never purchased a thing through them, although I have been dumb enough to work on some of it.
