Dont Laugh but this is the idea

Just right, John.

Ok I got the flow switch mounted in place of the old one ,, I also mounted the High Limit switch on the outlet of the burner coils... The thermostat is going to be tricky it has a 3.5 inch probe that I need to mount somewhere , somehow.. I thought about using a long peice of pipe and putting a cross out from the burner coils

I have never seen a machine with both a high limit and a Thermostat because they are the same thing one is adjustable the other is not. Redundant. Looks like smeone used my drawing and modified it.

If I recall correctly, all Epps machines have a high limit switch. The ones with thermostats have both.

Ok here is what happened .. without going in to super detail..My flow switch messed up on my machine while I was cleaning floors at the VA Hospital..It got so hot that it not only made steam but the water pretty much evaporated in the coils.. ( Scarred the mess out of me ) I did not have a high limit switch on the machine .. Oh well you guessed it I want to make sure this never happens again.. The reason for all of this is
The high limit switch is a 248 degree just in case hell breaks loose.. The Thermostat on the other hand ( with alot greater temp response time ) will be used for when I need a warm type water application for surface cleaning inside buildings such as tile flooring.... and I bought a flow switch ST-5 that is mounted where the High pressure goes in just before the burner coils..
I guess you would have to have been where I was about 6 years ago when I bought a little alkota machine and sitting outside of Olive Garden and watched a coil explode on a 1000 psi machine, I could only imagine what it would look like on my 3000 psi machine... And the cost of a coil is way more than the cost to double up on switching safety devices....

One of them is common, the other two are probably one normally open the other normally closed. Just use a meter to find out which is which.

Ok the thermostat isnt working.. I tried every possible hook up and now I am lost ..
The flow switch and High Limit switch are hooked in series and all seems to work well , But like I said the thermostat has three spade connecters on it . One says P1 , One says 1 and One says 2.. I tried ohming it out with a meter .. I really would like this to work.. Basically the way this is supposed to work ( I thought) is like putting 3 switches in series on one leg of the fuel solonoid switch.. This way when everything is in the closed position all is running (Example ... Gun pulled .. High Limit in closed position , Thermostat in closed position and flow switch in closed position all runs ) Now if I let off the wand, or the temp on the dial is exceeded or the temp should go over 248 degrees ( High Limit ) the Burner will shut down.. After my Job this morning I am going to spend the better half of this afternoon to rewire my machine... OMG did I say that...

Dont rewire everything. You did alot and dont have a clue which part or parts are not working. Get yourself 3 jumpers, bypass all 3 switches with the jumpers. That will tell you if everything else in the system works. If it still doesnt work with the jumpers you know the problem is elsewhere in your system. If it does work then remove 1 jumper at a time and test to see if it still works. When it stops working after pulling a jumper youve found your culprit.

Hmm Here is a wiring Diagram for an EPPS. What is yours?
Where is the puicture of this machine I may have the original Diagram.

At pressure parts ask for Jim he is knowledgeable. I bought allot of parts from him to make our machine.

I have the same unit on ours, I would go out there to look but its on a job site.

I think what has really got me is the three prongs instead of 2 coming out the back of the thermostat.. I think I may just hang tight until I get back from my trip and work on it some more.. I have it hooked up where it will work Just simply breaking the hot to the fuel solonoid with the flw switch and high limit switch..

Com and P1 are used

Ok what in the heck is going on.. I got the hi limit switch hooked up but my machine is still getting really hot.. I put a temp guage on it yesterday and it was rnning at about 230 degrees... Damn thing even steams water when I left off the wand.. Should I cut back on the fuel a little bit.. ( The screw on the diesel pump ) ?????

Have any pictures of what you did?

Sounds like you put it in the wrong place or wired it up wrong.

I still havent figured out what make of machine you have.........
I might have an original wiring diagram for you..
