dog kennel cleaning

I offered the local animal shelter one days labor with my equipment and of course they asked if i could clean the kennels. anyone ever clean kennels before? what would you use for a cleaner? bleach and water?

I wouldn't use bleach it's not good for their paws. I know some dog kennel owners i'll see if I can find out what they use to clean them.

Good call on the vinegar thats what i use at home works great and no irritants to the animals.

Sodium percarbonate with a long dwell time is also good at eliminating pet odors. I'm sure with a good rinse it would be safe. I'd also add some dawn or gain to the percarb.

Slightly different, but we have a friend on our kickball team who works at the aquarium. She occasionally has to clean the penguin exhibit. Apparently the penguins poop a lot. She uses the pressure washer that is mounted in the wall and I believe she just uses water. I will ask her what they use if anything.

The kennel should have some soap on site for cleaning...maybe they could provide that I wouldnt change there procedures. .the next thing you know the first new rash on the skin is the pressure cleaners fault. Never fails when your helping someone out.

I spoke with the facility manager and she left it up to me on what to use. She did say that the dogs leave oils and that some kind of degreaser would be needed. After speaking with her I spoke with another gentleman and he suggested this,
