MARKETING IDEA FOR WEDNESDAY JUNE 13TH, 2007


I have had this great idea to hold a contest in Denver called "Denvers Dirtiest House". Basically homeonwers will submit photos of their dirty houses on our website and we will draw a winner. the winner will get a complete exterior house wash free of charge.

This works in 2 ways, now stay with me here folks.....

1.) It draws people to your website : Yipppie Skippy

2.) It gets people to actually go out and see just how dirty their house is. When they enter your contest their thoughts will be " Gee honey, I hope we win, our house is disgusting on the outside, we really need it WASHED"

My theory is even if they don;t win, you have just made them really realize just how filthy their house is, call them and offer them a Special Price on house washing for an extended week after the contest......

I have submitted a press release to the media and I am hoping to get on a news channel with the contest ( Yes I know, high hopes...but it could happen)
 
Smart, You could also use the other people that did not win for the next marketing stint, or post cards or........

We do something similar in the winter months. We ask our customers to turn in pic's of someones house, can be in there neighborhood but doesnt have to be. That is very dirty and badly in need of cleaning. The catch is the person must be someone in need that cant really afford to have there home cleaned. Usually it's a single Mom, elderly person, or family that has a mom or dad that has been out of work for awhile. We do about 2 or 3 a month November thru February. Been doing it for quite a few years. I wouldnt say we get a ton of business off it, (cause we really dont advertise it other than a post card or letter to existing customers asking for there help in turning in names and houses), but it sure does make us feel good to help someone out.
 
I run a NYC house cleaning company. It would be really neat to do something like this on a local level as a promotion. Hmm, maybe the dirtiest house would get a free cleaning and then show before and after pics....
