Hi

I am going to start restoring decks if I am going to clean or strip a deck what is the best way to set up prior to cleaning or stripping example should take plastic drop cloths and tape it to the house to protect vinyl paint etc.. and I will cover plants and bushes if they are under or next to deck I am just looking for some professional advice on set up and a system that they might use to restore decks so it protects the client and myself from any mishaps Thanks for your time in advance Glen

i mostly cover plants either when we are applying strippers, or sealers. If you are just cleaning, there is no need to cover them. Make sure you dont leave them covered for too long on a hot day.......they'll die.

As far as the house goes, we cover everything well if we spray the sealer. When stripping, most of the time you will not have to cover the house, with the exception of wood siding and some weaker aluminum siding. Also, you need to keep strippers away from brass. For example, a brass kickplate on the bottom of a door........it will get ruined from the stripper.

I use plastic 2mil rolls from home depot.....$1.90 each. We also use a lot of cardboard..........I get it from a local appliance store.

Mike Thanks I got your other message and replied to it I apprecite the advice I also wanted to know to get rid of moss and dirt on a deck I could use just a deck or house wash should I use any bleach at all or even just pressure and water what tips do you recommend on cleaning and stripping etc... and also if I am using a downstream chemical injector could I use it at the wand or does it have to be only used at the machine between the machine and hose Im just looking for different ways to set up my equipment Thanks for you time in advance Glen Brescia
