I had to think about this for a day. I see these boards developing to another level at some point to seperate one from the other. I see a competitveness on the horizon. I see exclusives for certain boards. For example, if you wanted to get advice or an opinion from a certain indiviual you would have to go to ABC BBS. Perhaps soliciting of "experts" in a field to host chats and comment on forums. I am speaking about qualified people from government agencies like the EPA and DEP. Perhaps folks from the IRS or the SBA. I think that people will look for seperation at some point and this will bring out some fresh new ideas.
I agree with Alan's assessment above on the BB's. I think that you should take the PWI as an example. You had that thing running on high. Then the site was slow and more importantly you stopped posting to keep that going. There was no one to take your place. If there was someone to keep the posts and content up, I don't believe the speed would have been as much of a factor. I think that if I had to wave a magic wand, I would say each board needs 2-3(could be more) hosts or emcee like people to keep the board fresh. Ron, you were/are the master at this.
I would also like to see more community on the BB's and not the "nonsense" that goes on from one board to another. This is unprofessional and only hurts us as a whole to be bashing individuals or groups from one board to another. I recognize not everyone can get along but, some of the stuff that goes on just shouldn't occur. I would use the magic wand to rid these types posts.
