Crazy story

I woke up this morning and checked through my emails to see how all the work went last night and one of my employees wrote this:

Both Jobs were completed without any issues. Only thing is when I was gassing up my truck at Chevron on 24th st & Washington when a man standing at the window for the cashier was stabbed right infront of me. Needless to say, I stopped pumping gas and got out of there. So I went to the shell station to finish gassing up.

So apparently he witnessed someone get stabbed right in front of him. So I called him to talk with him about this. He said the guy was stabbed with like a 6 inch blade multiple times. He said he just stopped fueling up and drove off!
I asked him if he called the police he said no he was too scared and just left.

This is a CRAZY world.

Wow. . .

I thought you were going to say that he sold the Chevron station... That, or he got fired for using the most expensive station in town. (It is the last station headed towards the airport)
Our guys are told that they have to stick around. If they need to get away, they can get in the truck and lock the doors. If a gun was involved, it would be a little different story. One of the things we have on our trucks is a full video recording system so that we have a video record of everything that happens while our guys are working. That system has saved multiple jobs. I am certain that there are times that will happen where it will also help solve a crime.

I'm sure some of the guys on here are thinking that "I would've done this or would've done that or did this" but the truth is no one knows what they would have done unless they were put in the situation themselves.

Personally, I most likely would have done what Ty's employee did but I would've called 911 also.

If he was my employee I would be making sure he was okay (mentally) and even offer a professional counselor to him after witnessing this. This isn't something he is going to forget overnight or anything.

I was the victim of a armed robbery and carjacking at a gas station about 9 years ago. And it happened at a gas station across the street from a Highway Patrol station of all places. To this day I still get jumpy when I stop to get diesel or gas in the middle of the night.

Actually, I know exactly what I would have done.

Where did you get the video recording system?

I got together with a company that does police lighting and radios. They did the installation of the cameras for me. I really like the system. It is pretty expensive. It cost close to $2500 per truck.

Candy Butt fire him for cowardness Hope Tony doesnt see this.

Hal, you nailed it.

This is the society we have created where a grown man runs when he sees another being murdered.

Not in my house.

Just last year I saw a man chasing another man with a knife across the Walmart parking lot. I don't know what the guy was chasing him for, maybe he deserved to be chased, but unless he killed somebody else I assumed he didn't deserve to die.

So ran the guy down with my truck and went right between him and the guy he was chasing and stopped.

I went to get out of my truck and he ran the other way. Thank God we live in a state where most are armed. I'm sure he thought I was going to shoot his butt.

I don't know what I would have done if he had turned on me. Fight him I suppose. Maybe I would have died that day. So what? If I had done nothing the other guy may have died. (And Shelly would be a millionaire now. lol)

What is the matter with people today?

Yeah, but are they encased in 3/8 inch steel plating and powdercoated two inches thick? lol

Zing, I should have saw that coming. They are actually ballistic aluminum, and provide a hi def signal. I hope that works for you. If I felt like driving one of the trucks across the desert to San Diego, and if the trucks weren't working on the day of the San Diego round table, I would bring one. So, if you want to see one, you will have to come see me.

No Comment.....(!)

Think of it...the first time in recorded history that Nick held back. This might be history making.
