JL Pressure Washing
I have a great opportunity and I need some help figuring things out. For the past couple years I've done assortted pressure washing for the county airport, Its no JFK or anything but theres a ton of buildings, concrete etc etc. The Chief of Maint. likes our work, but everything has to go out for bid, per county.
Ive missed a couple jobs because I was higher bid, luckily on 2 seperate specialty jobs the PW contractors that won the bids couldnt do the job and I ended up getting the job at my price anyway.
Today I met with the Cheif Of Maint to look at a building and then after we talked for a while, he told me he's been trying to figure in his head for awhile how he (the county) could put us under contract, so he doesnt have to go through the bidding process and he get us and he knows we can handle all his PWing - WOW GREAT -
We talked for a while and the problem is he needs scope of work with some kind of rates. As he and I talked we have no problem coming up with a sq ft rate for flat work, but how can I give hime rates say for buildings when there are dozens of buildings and many are different kinds of surfaces, with some being more difficult than others. Wether its pollution, mold, mildew, effore, soot etc etc etc and some are block, painted metal, baked finishes etc etc etc.
I was thinking an hourly rate, the problem is to maneuver this through the county process and to be able for him to get this under contract for 2-4 years we have to come up with some rates, which we both think might be kind of impossible
He wants us and we want the county, He's been with the county for over 20 years so he's not just looking for the best deal , he wants the best contracor
Help is there any way we can do this contract where if I run into a real problem building I dont lose. Some buildings will be just splash & dash and others may be full restoration chems, concrete flat work no problem
This is a GREAT opportunity but how can we get it worked out
Any help please
Jeff
