Company party

We had our Christmas party at my home for our employees. We had about an 80% attendance rate.

Some of the best lines:

From our Lesbian power washer that received some diagonal cutters in the white elephant Game:
"I got me some Dikes!" "Dang, I cant believe I said that..."

From one of our guys that lives in a less reputable part of town, when someone needed a knife:
"I brought my knife, because I wasn't sure what kind of neighborhood Scott lived in." Or, Monday after the party, "Scott, I did not realize that someone could have that much fun, without getting drunk!"

From the guy that won the 50" LCD TV, when I offered a sawzall so he could get it in his car:
"You ain't cutting this, and it is going to be on my wall, tonight!" BTW, it was.

Everyone appeared to have a very good time. Very few of them had ever sat in a formal setting for dinner, with extra forks knives and spoons. I cooked the steaks, and they quickly learned that medium is far better then well done. It helps that they could not see the meat because it was just dark enough to not be obvious. All in all, a successful event, and I was glad to be able to have my guys in my home for dinner.

So, I tried to upload pictures of the prize table, but for whatever reason, PWI wasn't uploading them in a reasonable amount of time...Dang. No employee left with less then a $50 door prize, which was on top of their bonus.
As prizes we had:
a 50" LCD TV
32"LED TV
PS3
Blue ray player wifi enabled
Nikon portable camera
RC car
Tool set
Makita cordless drill and driver set
etc.
Also a large variety of gift cards, and cash prizes.

Everyone went away very happy.

Nice Job Scott, its a great team building thing. Your going to build Loyalty for sure, no Company party at Christmas for my employees. Bonus yes, no party. We do have two paid trips annual that last year was only one, its in May. Boating trip along with Camping if they feel they want to stay over. We grill Boat and have fun, all free from alcohol too believe it or not. Employees and booze never a good idea. We did a Ski trip a few times but couldn't get everyone on the band wagon. yeah Tim attempted to take me down the Black Diamond. I road the snow mobile, I have actually posted photos of the camping outings here on PWI some place.

At Christmas we quit celebrating party's with Employees, we throw about 4 customer party's through out this month. Many or my employees come, all office and sales people. 3 Forman come to different ones, they have to behave because we host them in places that sell alcohol. The two catered ones are breakfast at there location. One customer is so large we have a individual party for them, I'm sure know the customer.

Attendance on mine are 98% because we give bonus money at the event. No Show, NO bonus!!! Always one guy with a Death or something catastrophic!!

Christmas Bonus is Easy for me, 100.00 bucks for every Year of Service. Scott won't do it, but I pay Cash and do not involve the IRS.

I have some of the best people out there. They have all earned whatever I give them as a bonus, or in pay. If they aren't earning, they just don't fit the profile of our company, and are let go. Usually, we can tell within a very few days if someone is going to make it, or not. The worst is that a couple of months ago, we hired 6 guys, and not one of them made it past a week. It was a crazy time, and we had a little bit of a revolving door going for a while. We made it through, are getting some better hires now then we were.
