According to Entrepreneur Mag. 7 of the top 25 fastest growing franchises are Commercial Cleaning Companys and 1 Residential. And 8 of the top 25 low cost startups are Commercial cleaning Co. most of which are homebased Op's.
This tells me that companies and people hate cleaning up after themselves. If they can't clean their own windows or dust their own desks. They should not balk at hireing a company like mine, to do jobs that require expensive high tech equipment to complete the job properly.

Have any of you done business or had work sub'd out to you by company's like Jani-king, Jan-Pro, Servicemaster or others?

Kory, Last year I got a call from a Jani King franchise owner to clean all the concrete at a GTE building off 301 in Bradington. It was for all the walkways front and back and their outside patio area. The problem was that they had no outside water. Can you believe that? A multi million dollar bldg and someone forgot to add water spigots to the bldg. Hahaha! We actually ran 300ft of garden hose though the front door, though 2 offices and down a hall to a maintenance room where we hooked up to a water supply. That 300ft ran outside to a T and to another 100ft of garden hose PER machine and by some strange miracle we were able to run both machines off of this and we each machine was using 200ft of high pressure hose. At one point in order to reach the lunch patio I had to cut off one machine to supply the other with 350ft of high pressure hose. And they said it couldn't be done!!! LOL.

The day we did that job it was about 40 deg and the wind was blowing real hard. Trust me. It was cold. (for down here) I didn't cover the plants. Someone else must have. I'de show a bunch of pics but as usual it's tough to get a feel for the size of the place with just a few pics. The Jani King guy was there when we were doing the work. He actually kept an eye on our feed hose that we ran through the bldg to make sure nothing leaked. LOL...When we finished he wrote me out a check on the spot for the work we did. Nice easy transaction. He actually even gave me an extra $50.00 because of the water hassle. 2 other companies had been there before me and couldn't do the job because of the water issue. He was on a deadline and we came through for him so I think he was just overjoyed about that. I love a challenge! :)

Cleaning is good... Our service has seen growth consistantly. We get calls from other cleaning services that know we Pressure Wash. The big franchises do alot of in house because they hire VERY cheap Labor. We get a call when it's a situation like Larry described. They don't usually have bigger machines or water tanks.

Our Cleaning Company does well in this economy.

You ever use fire hydrant meters?

I have 3 meters I kep year round. They cover me in many areas I work. Man I got some garden hose too

This has been our best year so far. Cleaning parking garages is a field that we have been promoting for 20 years. The industry is growing and the clients are starting to ask about equipment used for the cleaning. In fact, One city wrote in the bid that the contractor needs a minimum of 875,000 BTU,s at 6 GPM with 4,000 PSI. If you do not have those specs, you cannot bid. The specs have to be submitted in writing by the manufacture of the pressure washer. Then they want you to do a demonstration with your equipment to prove that you can hit 265 degrees minimum at 6 GPM with a nozzle they supply at 5.5 as described in the bid. 10 Pressure washing companies got disqualified during the bid process.

So I do believe that Commercial Pressure Washing Cleaning is on the rise. The industry is going to weed out the Home Depot pressure washer. Their days are numbered.

That's my 2 cents !!!

I bet you had something to do with those contract restrictions being put in place!

In my line of work residential Property Management work, I would just like them to require 5 references from contractors. I see guys pop up and go in and do thirty buildings with 2.6 gpm machines no chems. Hell I doubt they have done 30 homes. If I could just get all PM's on the same page it would be nice

Two of my Big contracts I just got are from a National Chain they do all the Inside work and some of the washing on the Centers and they contracted me to Sweep them and they want help on one center come spring to wash sidewalks.
