Cleaning sealed concrete after gasoline spill

Homeowner spilled gasoline on concrete which left a stain behind. The concrete was sealed with a white pigment sealant. I advised that any corrective action could possibly remove some of the sealant. I was thinking of using part of house mix and surface cleaner as I will be washing the house. Any ideas?:scratchhead:

People who use pigmented sealers on their concrete (or hire guys that do) usually know what product it is AND that they should have it regularly re-sealed. If he wants the stain gone, he's going to have to have it resealed. He should have been more careful with that gasoline - or chosen a better quality sealer the first time around!

They are no longer in business. Homeowner does not know anything about the sealant used or proper care of it. I agree that a better sealant would not have stained this easily.

I distribute a product called EATOILS BT200. It will eat all the gasoline away as long as the gas is on top of the sealant. If the stain was there and then sealed over it, I doubt it will work. Call me or email me and we can talk about it.

Looks like it is sitting on top of the sealant. I will have a better look tomorrow and let you know.

Try using a light detergent first, it may pull it up. If not you could try a degreaser to remove it. If the stain persists Oxalic acid may remove it. And like Celeste mentioned it should be resealed annually.

Thanks Paul...I will use my push broom to agitate with light detergent and see if that helps. Will try both degreaser and ox...I will recommend re-sealing it annually. I have no idea what it on there. Is there a preferred sealant to use?

What you think is a stain may be the gas ate the stain and it needs to be resealed.
I dont think gas can stain tinted concrete, this is only my opinion. Re stain or walk away is my opinion.
