Cleaning Fusible Links Exhaust Cleaning

I guess that would make me just pretty good since I have only done this for 20 years right LOL..... Don't ya just Luv it.... I love cleaning Hoods and yep i clean the links as well .. and if they are really bad I disarm the fire system just to be sure it wont fire when I hit them with 3000 psi .. but since I am a recognized and certified fire system person I can disarm the fire system (( It's in the code ))
:eek:k::eek:k::eek:k::thumbup2:Yes your right now i have 13 years under my belt on my own and 20 years knowledge.:clapping:All i use is 1250 psi 3.5 gpm to clean a system and i havnt poped a link yet and ,God forbids,a link pops i have a few certified fire companies ready to come out when i need them.:eek:uttahere: One of the companies also cleans hood systems but admits i am simply the best, huh? So he gives me work. Then an "ikca" company decides to give up hood system cleaning and choose me to take over all his account, huh?Heck stuff happens what can you do but the fact is you have to clean a system in its entirety.:angel:And hood system detailing is my life and love as well.It feeds my family and provides all our wants so no complaints, heck i love this work so much i cant wait to get another chinese or a system that has been neglected for years thats what i live for.:clapping::joyful:

I agree with you John. Although I typically won't touch another persons system unless I really feel the need to.

I also have a issue with Mr Acklands statement. 30 lbs of pressure is alot. I will have to dig out my install books from all the main manufacturers and from Brooks, but if my memory serves me correctly, Aghh gotta check. I will have to re visit the specs.

I know that the actual ansul brand fuseable links are rated at 30 or 32 lbs tensil strenght, but the over the counter ones from Brooks are only rated at around 12 lbs I think. LIke I said I have to look it up.

OK, but is he certified by God?

While I do not share the same enthusiasm on cleaning a restaraunt hood like a chinese restaurant that has not been cleaned in years like Marko... I have alot of new accounts that I will definitly charge extra if the hood has been neglected.. While my fusible link test was just something to do because I was bored that day.. It sort of proved that it will take alot to bust a fusible link using caustic or even leaving caustic on it for a set amount of time.. I have learned that Battery acid however will eat the crap out of a fusible link pretty quick , thank god I dont have to clean with that... Anyway the weather was wrong tonight said it was only gonna be 30 degrees but outside on my little thermometer it says 28 already .. The job I have is one that the exhaust fan is on a white rubber roof , I just didn't feel like I ce Skating tonight so I guess I will just take a break.. Heck I only have 13 more jobs to do before the end of the year.. I will just have to double up..

thanks thad, good point

No i didnt pull my head out of anything Lou it just makes me wonder why an "expert" cant answer a simple question. You have to clean the entire system period,do you? I know i do and i make sure of it as well.

i personally have never known phil to claim that he was the expert on hood cleaning. it is just a title that this forum recognizes him as because of his experience. you are the only one that i have known to claim to be the expert on hood cleaning.

:crying:Now rando stop the whining. Your just upset cause i am not talking to ya.:slap: The fact is i am an expert at what i do just like Ron is an expert at what he does and Russ is an expert at what he does and Anthony,Matt and so on. Now you are a part timer is all you are so i guess you are a part time expert:nono::joyful:.I am just calling out Phil cause i feel he is wrong to agree with such a rule.:nhl_checking: And the fact is even though this bbs labeled Phil as an expert Phil accepted the label. And finally yes i will find me a chinese restaurant to clean cause i am an expert at that.:dance3:Marko
