Changing Tips

I am having truble understanding the "nozzle charts" I have seen. I have a alkota 3500 psi 5.5 GPM pressure washer and looking to get some tips that will allow me to do low pressure. Can anyone help me understand how to chose the right one.
Thank you,
Jason

I'll post one and talk you through it when I get in to the office.

:idea:I am going to see if I'm right on how to read a nozzle chart. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So I have a 3500 psi 5.5 GPM pressure washer, I am wanting to do low pressure, so, looking at the chart I would look at (example) 800 psi 5.5 GPM and go with that size tip. I would still have 5.5 GPM at 800 psi.
Am I any where near being right?

Don't feel bad. The parts manager of a major PW distributor and their 15yr sales "manager" here in my town don't have a clue how to read one. They told me the only way to change the pressure was to slow down the engine. Total goofs.

So after understanding the chart, I still have one question. Does it hurt to have a higher GPM? For me to do 800 PSI according to the chart I would have 5.59 GPM, if I wanted to do 600 psi it would be a 5.81 GPM.
Anybody? And where in the world could I find some of the nozzles?

Here's a nozzle chart. If you know your flow rate and desired pressure, here's how it goes. Read across the top for the pressure you want. Read down the column under your pressure and find your flow, or approximate flow. Follow that row to the left for the nozzle you need. And I have nozzles in full and half number sizes.

Jason if your talking about soft washing you have it wrong. You want less pressure but more flow so you should use a 15 - 20 gpm tip with what ever fan that you desire. We use 15deg 40gpm to soap and 15deg 15gpm to rinse. I use this on my 8gpm machines. You may have to tweak the gpm tips so you don't pull soap.
