Change we can believe in.....spend money...get money.

or a regular size candy bar.

Food Stamps are too much of a crutch (along with welfare). I understand people get down in life at times and I think it is good to have in place BUT they need to have it for a limited time and should be required to prove they are attempting to find a job.

IF YOU DONT WORK, YOU DONT EAT

I agree with Jonathan. I used to live in a neighborhood that all the families were on some sort of government program. Healthy, young people who just did not want to work. Some people say they don't have the education...that is crap. A friend of mine's mom has worked her way up to a store manager at a large chain store and all she has is a 10th grade education. She just tries harder than most.

Now I will agree that even McDonalds will not hire you without a GED...but how hard is it to get a GED? It is all about initiative.

And he is also right about temporary assistance. All the people getting laid off and such deserve all the help they can get. They have worked for their right for assistance.

Sorry...That is my soap box speach...lol.

I agree with helping people when they are down or temporarily unemployed but here you have generations living with the aid when there is nothing physically or mentally wrong with them, just lazy but they learn that from their parents and maybe grand parents too. It is a shame.

I am sure that if they stopped the programs right away the crime would jump up quick so what do you do?

I do not have the answers but wish some would start working and ease the burdon of those that are supporting social security and the other programs with tax money.
