Certification questions

First, what orginization oversees all certifications. Second, where can I find out where classes and certifications are taking place. I am from Illinois and would like to try and stay some what close to home if possible. Also how long does your certifications last. Do you have to have any ongoing education classes? In my floor cleaning business we have to have so many credits per year in order to keep our certs and I think there might be a yearly fee too.

Tony, right now it is just a cert for carpet cleaning. There are dozens of cert through the IICRC from carpet cleaning to fire, water damage restoration. I only clean carpet, ceramic&porcelain tile, concrete and the occasional strip and wax of VCT tile. We use a floor tool for the tile and concrete cleanings. It is made by Turbo force. Not as big of a machine as some guys use but it does a good job. I am thinking about getting into the fleet washing biz and was trying to find out how the certifications were since this is a whole different ball game from floor cleaning.

Carpet cleaning is a pretty tight market in this part of the country.

Thanks Ron. I actually have had a couple of email chats with Blaine the last couple of days. Just talked to a guy on the phone today that has one of his systems. I have a call into another guy that has his system but I haven't heard back from him yet. Positives things I am hearing so far about the Bioclean system.
