Awesome Work!

17 hours? wow nice job

Thanks I love it it really looks great because its wet.100_0887.jpg I did this back peace for him first because he wasnt sure what he was going to get. That took me by myself 4 hours. then for the rest I brought help. so it took a total of 21 hours. I had to feather in around the roof line to even out where i used a little stripper to remove some heavy stain. ( lesson learned there )

I shot sodium percarb through the shurflo and that seems to have taken all the stain off ( well 90% ). He had cabot's on it. they put it on at the factory. Talk about rinsing.

we came to an agreement on the staining.

Beth, I was looking at your products and It says that your stain/sealer can be applied to wet wood. what would be the minimum moisture content recommended?

Dude I need to be calling you from now on that is some awesome work.

Looks great. You have to watch out if the Cabots was on both sides (pre sealed). A day after you finish stuff leaches from the back side of the cedar. Pre sealed cedar is a tricky strip and change to a new product sometimes. A good question to ask in the north east when quoting . Sometimes the mildew migrates to the backside which becomes a major issue.

thanks guys , charlie I squared that wet deck issue on sunday. went down and looked at it and it was fine collected check and happy customer. Thanks for the help.

Jim ,the homeowner has told me that only one side was stained, but yeA I will ask in the future if its was stained on both sides. goood info thanks

Sweet nice work Steven!

Hey Steven that looks great! I've had years of great results staining Cedar Siding with Boodge WoodCare Professional Series Stain from Arvada, CO. It is non-film forming petroleum based oil, easy to apply, easy to clean-up, and easy to maintain and clean. Your customers will love you for using it.

Steven, Sorry for the delayed response.

Both Woodrich-Brand Timber Oil and Wood-Tux can be applied to damp or dry wood. There is really no "minimum" moisture content required. Generally speaking Timber Oil will dive deeper into really dry wood.

When it comes to "maximum" moisture content, Wood-Tux can be applied to wood even if it is completely saturated. When it comes to fresh cut wood that is considered "wet" such as new cedar, Timber Oil seems to do better on the initial application.

HOWEVER

We do not recommend trying to stain immediately after washing. It is always going to be better if you wait for the wood to dry, we are not trying to promote a "deck in a day" type solution. The idea was to create products that allow you to stay on schedule during the rainy season.

When you stain wood that is really wet, it is going to take a lot longer to dry and/or cure.
