That is a shame, he was a good person and was fair.

That is a great show, I always watch it, it is very addictive. hahahahaha

That is sad. I watch that show all the time. I definitely would not want that job. I remember when he got sick and ended up in the hospital. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by family, friends and fans. RIP Captain Phil. Time for someone else to take the helm. :angel:

I spent 6 years in Dutch Harbor (no not on the boats) and I have met most of these skippers at one time or another. I remember the Cornelia Marie very well as she was one of the largest ships in the fleet. The really sad thing is that he will not be able to watch his boys to continue to mature and see his grandchildren grow. He had the stroke in St.Paul, if you know anything about Alaska that is the most remote place in the state as it is in the middle of the Bearing Sea and had to be flown 1,000 miles to Anchorage for surgery. Sometimes the planes can not get into the island because of weather, there is no IFR into these airports, you have to be able to see the runway.
