Does anyone else bypass there coils when not using heat? Just wondering because the difference in PSI/GPM is substantial. I even bypass the reel and just use it to roll up the hose, got tired of always replacing the swivels.

I've never bypassed the coils, but have generally always just used the reel for the reel part.

I have always bypassed my coils and hose reels, try to get rid of as many restrictions as I can.

I use both all the time while the loss is measurable I find it overall to be negligible in the big scheme of things. When you are talking .2 gpm and a few hundred psi it really does not slow me down to justify extra the time it takes to setup and tear it all down and constantly switch it all around. Speed and efficiency = productivity = $$$. No way I would do it any other way, my time is just to valuable.

Since we only have to use heat on a few of our filter accounts I'm was planning to use ball valves to bypass the coil, but not the reel.

I need all the psi I can get because we keep 480 ft on the reels.

I always bypass heat coils when not using them. A quick connect makes it a 5 second change over.
