buying a new truck

Speaking of new trucks.. Every year I think to myself that this will be the year when I get a new truck .. However every year gas goes up, insurance goes up and the hood cleaning and pressure washing market in mississippi goes down.. So thinking rationally about being able to afford payments for the next 6 years seems almost impossible for someone who only makes 100,000 a year , which Uncle Sam gets about 23% of anyway.. I believe this is called ( Not supperting the growth of Small business in the USA ) In other words the rich get richer and the poor hard working people get taxed out the A$$

Take the plunge John :)

If you can't afford a $500 payment while making $100K/year, then your priorities are out of whack. I consider my vehicle THE MOST important asset to my business. Without a truck, I can't work. I can go without a pw'er even at least for a little bit, but I can't pull my trailer or pile everything in the back of a car. I guess some do, but I'm not going there.

Also, the vehicle is a write off, it actually helps when it comes to tax time. At least it does for me.

Another thing, Newer vehicles are more likely to get BETTER gas mileage, so there would be some savings there. My 0-60 in 6.6 seconds Titan still gets 16-18 mpg without my trailer of course. Technology is your friend.

I would recommend getting a slighty used vehicle and going for it dude. If you're bringing home $70+ a year, how in the world could you not afford a newer more reliable vehicle. Your business depends on it.

I ended up getting a 08 Silverado 1500, we got it for 9k under msrp. I read yesterday that you can get a dodge for 13k under msrp right now too.
